The Wisdom of the Wise

End times prophecy is coming to fruition. Knowledge is increasing exponentially in these days, but what does God say about the wisdom of the wise?

The Wisdom of the Wise

The Wisdom of the wise

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”

Daniel 12:4 KJV

Worldly wisdom is ever increasing

If you ever question if we are living in the end times you have to take this verse into consideration.  Daniel prophesied specifically about knowledge increasing in the end times.  All we have to do is look at the fields of Science and Math to see that Jesus is coming soon.  The work being done in these fields are outrageous.

Many people know about what’s happening at CERN, the advances in nanotechnology, synthetic biology, robotics and gene therapies, but what about all these Millennial Math Problems?   Knowledge IS increasing. Because of computers and now supercomputers, century old numerical problems are being solved.

  1.  (1995) Fermat’s Last Theorem:  After 358 years of effort, this problem was solved.  This problem was in The Guinness’s World Book as the most difficult math problem!
  2. (2003) The Poincaré Conjecture was solved.
  3. (2019) New progress was made on the Zeta Function
  4. (2021) The Bourgain Slicing Problem:  One of the most important problems in high-dimensional convex geometry has been solved.
  5. People have been working on the Navier-Stokes equation for over a century and finally there is progress being made.

This list could go on.  If we had twenty more years here on earth we might see ALL the Millennial problems solved.  But what does God think about that?  Does He care?  This is what God thinks about worldly wisdom:

God’s thoughts on worldly wisdom

1 Corinthians 3:19-20 KJV “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.”  “And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.”

James 3:15 KJV “This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.”

Job 5:13 KJV He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.”

Isaiah 5:21 KJV “Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”

Proverbs 3:7 KJV “Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.”

Isaiah 29:14 KJV “Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.”

Romans 1:22 KJV “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,”

Colossians 2:8 KJV “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

Biblical advice for the wise…in their own eyes

Ecclesiastes 1:18 KJV “For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.”

Jeremiah 9:23 KJV“Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:”

Job 37:24 KJV “Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.”

Proverbs 28:11 KJV “The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.”

What will come of worldly wisdom?

Proverbs 16:25 KJV “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

Matthew 11:25 KJV “At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.”

1 Corinthians 2:6 KJV “Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:”

The wisdom of the wise is worthless

Worldly Wisdom

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that God is not impressed with the wisdom of the wise.  The Bible is clear on God’s thoughts concerning this subject. To Him, worldly wisdom is folly and will be brought to nothing.  The mathematicians can work away at all their problems, the wicked scientists can continue to work on their evil inventions, but if they don’t know the Lord, then they are truly fools.  It doesn’t matter how smart they are; in God’s eyes they are foolish.  All their work is in vain and will be burned up soon enough.

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”

2 Peter 3:10 KJV

Time is ticking for those who are wise in their own eyes. It’s time to repent and start putting your time and energy into things that actually matter. Look what God did to the Tower of Babel. Understand that He’s going to do it again.

1 Corinthians 1:19 For it is written,“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,And the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.”
